What to eat in Fasano

Fasano, being so close to the sea, offers seafood specialities of every kind. Fresh pasta with sea urchins, spaghetti with mussels and seafood, shell fish, crustaceans and a fillet of fish which has to be eaten raw.

Thanks to its fertile soil and being close to the sea, Fasano is famous for certain agricultural products; first of all there are the barattiere, a very tasty local melon-cucumber; the sweet fiorone which is in fact a flower from the fig tree and matures in June and the regina tomato of Torre Canne, recognised by the Slow Food movement.
