Going back to Piazza Ciaia, from Via del Balì you enter into the old “land”, characterised by narrow alleyways, whitewashed arches and the characteristic houses in the Fasano style: small houses made up of three rooms, lounge, alcove and bedroom.

On the right side of via Balì there is the Arch of Balì, the large baroque portal in noble stone which leads into the courtyard of the old castle, which is today the City Hall. Following this street you enter into the pretty small square of Largo Seggio over which looks the lodging with three arches of the ancient University Hall which is today the premises of the Town Hall Library.
