Walk straight on and you will immediately come across the Clock Tower. The building which comes from the 1700’s used to house the University. Initially the clock that came from the bell-tower of the ancient Mother Church was placed on the tower, but later the tower was gentrified lifting up a circular Tuscan order column. Once the rooms of the last floor were used as prison cells and inside one could see the signs of this grim hospitality on the floor. Today these rooms house the historic archive of the town and the centre of archeological documentation on the Neolithic Grofoleo settlement, considered to be one of the most interesting in Puglia.
